Millboard Decking in Smoked Oak
This stunning development, located on the waterfront of the Pumicestone Passage, required an external cladding that would enhance the architectural beauty of the building.
The natural choice was our Elements Vlucan + Newport Hector Cladding – a thermally modified plantation timber with patented vertical grain that delivers first class durability (Durability Class 1).
A Patina ‘silvering off’ finish provided a stylish, weathered look that seamlessly blends in with the natural coastal surroundings. The oxidisation process will also act to protect the wood to ensure long-term robust performance.
In addition, the Newport Hector Cladding was used as a feature internally to add style, warmth and boost environmental performance of this landmark development.
The Western Red Cedar VJ Secret Nail Profile was also used internally for, feature walls, bulkheads and drop ceilings. It provided an economical solid timber lining, and was white washed to tone down the varying colours of the Western Red Cedar and to reflect an era back in time.
Urbanline’s Smoked Oak Millboard was used as decking in the outdoor eating areas and for built in seating, balustrading, and table tops on some of the outdoor furniture. Like the Newport Hector Cladding, the Millboard also offered the coastal, ‘weathered look’ while providing the low maintenance/easy to clean and needed robust durability for coastal environments.
